Meaning of Life

[showmyads]
Why are we here? What is our purpose? What is the meaning of life, the universe and everything? Is it 42?

Actually I know why we’re here. It came to me last week and was quickly reinforced within minutes by something I read and then two news stories, as though someone wanted to not only get my attention, but make sure I wrote about it!

We are here to joyously create joy through our joyful creations.

That’s it!

Now expand on that. How do you do that? It would be dependent on your individual circumstances.

Some ways to joyously create joy through our joyful creations:

Create a sculpture that embodies your spirit and gives you and everyone else joy when you look at it.

Create a bond between to people that results in joy for them and joy for you.

Create a business that employs people and gives joy to you who runs it, joy to your employees as they enjoy working there, and joy to your customers who joyfully buy your joyous products or services

Create a book that makes you feel joy as you write it and gives joy to people who read it.

The list is endless. This is our mission in life. We must create and do so joyfully and in doing so joyfully, create something that other people will take joy in.

Here are some examples:

A retired gentleman in Russia spends his pension on building an underground metro to connect all the people in his village. His creation gives him joy as he is creating something that will last a long time and also give joy to others in the village who will be able to use the metro to get to the shops in the centre and the train station. As many in his village are elderly he is also working on creating a lift system to enable people to easily get to his underground metro. It is a labor of love and his legacy will bring joy to others in the village for many years.

A lady in Iraq is making the lives of war victims better by spending her life sculpting perfect prosthetic limbs in a factory. She takes pride in her work and is passionate about making sure the limbs are perfect for the people who need them. She receives joy from her creations and she receives joy from the way her creations bring joy to people who are now able to walk again.

On the flipside, how many people go to work, fill out forms, serve customers that don’t appreciate them, go home, argue with the family, sleep, then go back to work again without creating anything or making any change to anyone’s life? How empty do these people feel?

When was the last time you sat down and created something that brought you joy? It could be a drawing, a model, an outline of your new house, a script for a play, a well crafted letter, a blog post 🙂  Today, think of something you would like to create. Even if you just create it in your mind you’ll feel the joy from creating that creation. How do you feel?

Well, I’m off to do my best to joyously create joy through another joyful creation. Chat to you soon.

Spread the love
