Karma, karmic debts and Christianity

[showmyads]
I’ve only recently learnt about this thing called karma. Apparently when you do something in this life that causes a problem for another person, you then need to do something to reverse or fix that problem.

So, if I accidentally cut someone off at the lights in my car, does that mean I need to find that person and apologise, otherwise I’m going to have bad karma?

I’m really not sure about how detailed this is. I mean, obviously killing someone is going to result in bad karma but giving someone the wrong order in a restaurant, will that result in bad karma? What about killing a cockroach? Or what about when you believe you’re doing a good turn for someone but it works out badly, like hooking someone up with a date only to find you made the wrong choice? What if you’re completely forgetful and go through life oblivious to all the bad things you’re doing because the moment you’ve done them you’ve already forgotten them. How does the naughty and nice sheet stack up at the end of your life? How do you fix it if you can’t even remember what you’ve done?

And now we find, with past life regression, that our karma days aren’t over when we kick the bucket. We carry our karma list through all our lifetimes, trying to pay it off, fix the negative/positive energy debt and make things balanced. If we killed someone in a previous life they’ll come back as someone we have to take care of our entire life to pay off that debt. Or they’ll come back as someone that ends up killing us in return.

It sounds like a very depressing way to live. I’d have to hire a personal accountant and try to work out a point system so I could keep track of what I’m doing. But even then, how do I do that? What if the debt I incur is unknown? For example, this post might offend someone but they don’t tell me. Is that another debt? If I write a post that offends a million people, will I have to pay that debt over a million lifetimes?

I’ve had Christian friends for a long time now and I have finally worked out the whole Jesus died on the cross for our sins thing. It never made any sense to me before. I was quite happy owning my sins and wasn’t interested in anyone taking them away from me as it made me who I am. But, actually, and it is something that the Church doesn’t talk about, what if Jesus was giving an outlet in a particular point in space and time that we could focus all our karma debt on and release ourselves from this merry go round. If that’s true, way to go Jesus! It’s a pity the current church doesn’t believe in past lives or karma so can’t explain that part to us.

Having said that, there are a number of souls on Earth now that have somehow shielded themselves from Karmic debt by creating an energy sheath and shifting themselves to a slightly higher vibrational level.

I wonder where I could get one of those?
