As we’ve been discussing healing power I thought I should end it with a comment about magnotherapy.
Magnotherapy or Magnet healing is the idea that being near magnets can reorder your own personal electromagnetic field. You can actually buy mattresses full of magnets, magnet pillows, magnet bracelets and more, based on this theory.
I had a friend about 10 years ago who tested some magnet products on me. She used a roller with a spinning metal magnet to wave it across my back. Having had lower back pain at the time I was surprised to find my whole back suddenly heating up, like I’d sat in front of a microwave.
While the lower back pain didn’t disappear, my heart certainly started racing and it felt like my whole lymphatic system had gone into overdrive. I’m certain my metabolism had temporarily sped up. I can only assume that this particular device helps the body remove toxins and blockages as a few days later I suddenly had some chest hair and that isn’t something I usually have! Did it increase a production of testosterone? No idea.
I’d avoided magnets before as I tend to get headaches from them so the idea of sleeping with a sheet of them over me was definitely not something I planned to do. But this spinning magnet that projected the electromagnetic field at high strength through my body definitely had my attention.
The problem with magnotherapy though is that it is still an unproven therapy. It’s a billion dollar industry in the States as people think that if companies have invested thousands making mattresses with them in, then it must be true! Unfortunately there have been no conclusive studies to prove that it improves health or heals you, which is what it is sold on.
If they sell it on “speeds up metabolism” it’ll probably be accepted!
What experience have you had with magnet therapy?
